New K&N air filter problems
I bought a new K&N air filter for my car.
 I removed the current air filter and found it in this sorry state:  When I went to fit the new one I noticed it had a larger internal circumference so didn't fit snugly into the air box housing; at the bottom of the housing there is a circular groove which the old one slotted on to, however when fitting the K&N filter it did fit in and appear to seal with the rubber at the end but I was wondering if this would be a sufficient air tight seal. When giving the car a rev afterwards, there was slight 'whoosh' sound but is this just because the new one is a high flow filter (and clean)?  Here are pics of the old on, fitting perfectly around the base, then the new one with a gap around the bottom (about 1cm all round it). Hopefully this all makes sense!

It's exactly the same height as the OEM filter, just a wider inner diameter so in theory should seal

I spend weeks on that because I didn't want to believe that 3.7 V8 petrol is the only engine K&N don't do the filter for.
I don't know how you got it coz it couldn't be advertised as for 3.7, if it was then it was a lie. Your only solution is filter from Green Filter UK No one else does the cotton ''performance'' filters for D3 3.7 petrol engine and it's you lucky day as they have promotion going on. I paid over 50quid, now you will get it for around 40quid. Return K&N and tell them to apologise unless you bought it for lets say 4.2 thinking it will fit. Nope. Abandoned the K&N idea after all this polava and just ordered a standard one from Euro Car Parts for £3!
And a cabin air filter for £4
