after trauling the net it could end up being the Bose amplifier thats the fault any one have a diagram of the set up with the bose ect
?

Also what is this mistery box in the boot ?
it has 3 expantion bays on it like you can add some sort of cards or chips or something was just wandering what it is because there was some water inside it ?    you pull out the black plastic protectors and there is a connection on the bottom too add things ?

sorry to be a pain in the ass but i think i just answered my own question your PDF has it on there and its Primaraly the radio tuner but the bay's on there are for the speech control module meaning thats why my voice control was not working because the module is missing from the boot for some reason its just gone and it has the option for the voice control so i may get hold of A8 parts and see what i can get

I think that part is lot more than just a radio tuner, the one you have is listed as discontinued but its replacement has this as its description.

Could have fried in the past as I think SDS was standard on D3. But it's one of the main boxes for the MMI. Interesting to see how water got into it!
Give it a couple of hours on the radiator and see how it goes.

just be careful Guy if you do end up getting one from the US - not sure they are exactly the same due to frequency differences etc
