Default Credit Check

Last month I was offered a new job, I had to go to various assessments and multiple interviews and was chosen out of hundreds of applicants so I'm over the moon, I get some really good perks, great money and get to travel the world through the company with excellent career development prospects. Its ideal, but I got an e-mail from the company and they want to do a credit check on me. So I gave them the authorisation to do it, I haven't heard anything from them since. (I have been offered the job and start next month) but haven't been told of the results of the credit check...
I have never borrowed money or had a mortgage/loan in my life. I do however have a phone bill/Insurance which I pay every month and have never been in overdraft. Should I be worried? Past few days I have been going on the 'no news is good news' mindset but thought I would put the question to you older more wiser chaps as it is on the back of my mind.
Thank You

Well done on the job Amar and don't worry about the credit check. It's routine and if there was any negative aspects you would of heard pretty quickly.

Thanks for the congrats, I am excited about starting. That's put me at ease now, never had a credit check done on me before but I thought it might be adverse based on me not having borrowed in the past!

If you're on a contract phone, then chances are you've had one run on you.. They run them for all manner of things.

Congrats on the job though.

Sounds like a good job you've been offered, hope it all pans out for you.

On the Credit Check side of things. I know from the Forum you are a young guy and you've told us no problems re Credit.

What you need to establish is a good Credit Record. To do that you need to take out a loan and pay it back early, do that kind of thing a couple of times and THEY see a good record - having nothing to show is sometimes not enough!

Thanks Sloss, that is good advice on taking out a small loan and paying it back to get a good credit rating and something I will think about. Got a contract through today so the credit check must have gone right. Start in two weeks.
