2002 D2 Parking sensors
Hi,
Not too sure if I have this in the right place but... The volume seems to have been muted on my parking sensors. They've been working fine, but, while they still beep when engaged and the light on the switch still flashes when sensing, the tone no longer sounds - any ideas? Thanks Dan |

The light shouldn't flash - it means there's a fault with the system. Get the codes read and it's most likely a knackered sensor or speaker Cheers Adrian

I see your car has front sensors, when you put the bumper back on after replacing the lower section did you remember to connect the wiring loom for the sensors? If so did it go back securely. I believe the foglights are on the same connector, try those and see if they are still working.
When I had the cambelt done on my D2, the wiring became loose and the sensors stopped working. The sensor green light should be always on, if you get a high pitched beep and flashing light, it indicates a fault.

Cheers for the replies - I've got a fault reader but nothing's coming up. They stopped working before I re-did the front bumper which is why I just assumed it was a volume thing - so the light on the switch should be green?

if its a cheap generic reader then it will only be reading the engine ECU. You need VCDS or a dealer to get access to the parking ECU.

Find a local specialist or someone local to you on the vcds register
It will confirm where he source of the fault is - need to replace the speaker for the rear sensors on my wife's a6 this weekend as that's thrown a fault. Parts are cheap if it is that
