Mine arrived today, not bad - just over a week from China.

Fitted and tested, suitably white and bright. I'll see how they are in the dark when I go out tonight.

Default LED reversing jobs

Same for me here. They've made a big difference, considering the size of the reversing light lens area.

I have changed filament bulbs for LEDs in the following areas:
Sidelights in headlight units
Rear reversing lights
Interior overhead lights, but not the map-reading ones.
Front fogs (cosmetic)

Would you consider them potentially over-bright for the application, or just right? I can see there's a lot of choice available in total power and wondered if 50W/800lm was over-kill?!

These look very similar, but are slightly lower output

Just to show the mark up potential on imported bulbs, the same seller is retailing the ones mentioned in this thread:

I also have the "50W" version, they are not bright enough at least for me, maybe they are too bright for those who are behind me . They are not actually 50W, only light output is supposed to be equivalent to 50W incandescent bulb, it even says in e-bay advert that power consumption is 8.67W

I find them just right, but then I don't need to reverse any significant distance in a really dark area. I'll see how they are when I manage to fit my reversing camera.

As for LED applications I've done all the above EXCEPT the front fogs as yellower light actually penetrates fog better and the "cosmetic" element seems irrelevant on a foggy day - better safe than pretty! And I've done all the map-reading bulbs too and the footwell lights, door puddle lights and glovebox and boot lights.
Off hand I think the only filament bulbs left are the indicators, brake lights, rear numberplate, red door open warnings and front/rear fogs.

But there are so many bulbs in these cars I've probably overlooked some!

I would consider them 'just right', as I've always found reversing lights on any car I've had to be too dim. I don't think they were ever designed to light up a dark area, but when there is no other light around, these definitely help. As for being over-bright, they're not going to dazzle anyone.

You mention the mark-up potential, and it was a price like that one you linked to that initially put me off, as there's no way I could justify spending 40 on two reversing lights. The one's I linked to earlier are selling for 12.21 a pair. Definitely worth the wait from China.

I have to second this - the reversing lights are perfect for my needs and certainly not too bright. Wait a couple of weeks for the slow boat, all sorted!
