Default Suspension Strut Compatability

Hi all,

i replaced my front left strut in the summer with a used 4H0616039AD.

in December the front right went, so i ordered another used 4H0616039AD off eBay.

once fitted, i found it fell overnight, checked all joints, no leak, so leg itself at fault.

the seller has sent me a replacement, but once unboxed i realised the part number was unfamiliar.

4H0616039J

after looking on ETKA it appears this is a SPORTS version and isn't compatible with 1BK running gear but for 2MA running gear.

the seller insists it's fine to fit, but i'm not too certain, i don't want one corner of the car stiffer/adjusting at a different rate from the others.

physically, it appears to be identical.

what are your thoughts??

Sports will probably be stiffer. I wouldn't fit an incorrect part. I've looked on ETKA and AD is superseded with AK so would use either of these.

On a separate note, a 2011 A8 is showing a AP suffix for a 1BK vehicle?

That was my thought, might just ask to return both for a refund.

Just don't want to offend the seller, he's adamant it'll be fine.

Problem is, it's not a two minute job to fit either.
