There is no maximum mileage for CP removal, but 100KM (~66miles) is the maximum mileage that the dealer can reset the miles so you will need to pay ~£50 to the Albanian mafia or similar.

and then look on ebay for the part numbers. I have a 2009 cluster in my 2006 and it works fine even though the part number is for later years.

Reviving an old thread here - does anyone know if a later widescreen cluster 3g and be retrofitted to a car with 2g MMi High?

Contemplating this upgrade but wasn't sure on compatibility

I think this is what I have - it was from a 2008 facelift into my 2006.
4E0 920 951 J
The backlighting is slightly nicer on the later ones and has a digital speedo option (which you can also set to KM/h).

Thanks snapdragon, so you fitted a widescreen cluster off a 3G A8 without any issues then?

I did have a chat with marcin about this before and he said I need a 2G cluster hence why I was confused...

Supposedly, I bought it from ebay and it was listed as from a 2008 FL so would have had MMI 3G.

When I google the part number it says FL.

But I never actually saw it in the car.
It does have the digital speedo option if anyone knows if that was a FL feature.

Wasn't 3G from 2009 onwards (does it coincide with addition of driving aids? Or were they optional?)

My departed 4.2TDI was facelift, had digital speedo but MMI 2G (late 2007).

This was on my to do list, the cluster is still in my boot.
