I did LDN to Warrington return yesterday. 400 miles exactly, door to door, full tank of fuel and light came on as I hit Putney. I don't think that is too bad.
The miles and miles of 50mph average on the M6 probably helped!

400 is really good - I only managed to get a one time max of 436 on the night I picked the car up in Edinburgh and drove back to Northampton. Literally legal speed limit the whole way with cruise control and dead of night, so no major braking or accelerating.

Since then I have never got anywhere near 400 so you've done really well.

If I get over 300 I throw a party in celebration

S8 is a fueloholic
One of the reasons why I sold mine was mpg
I had lots of big engined cars....mostly mercs and they were pretty good on fuel
But s8 is ridiculous, normally I don't mind mpg figures but audi was hurting me even on my 5 mile to work commute (was even worse, did not even get to proper operating temp). My v12 s600 was much much better.
It is a great car but 1 spark system, even it is direct injection is fuel sucking sponge.
New 4.0TT is not that scary
Anyways I could get around 190 miles to a full tank which even for supercar standards its poor

Yep, as Boris said, but in my case I like low MPGs, the lower they are the better the car is
I do work from home tho and don't do silly miles so it fits me.

My very long term average is a little over 20mpg. And this V10 S8 is a fair amount more economical that my previous 40v D2 S8.
The D2 was a more rewarding drive, but that could have been down to the lovely 18" wheels (sorry). The D3 does it for me with the toys.... and B&O

I've gone as far as buying a dog of a van for the 18 mile round trip to work, rather than "kill" my S8 with the short trips. I put twenty quid of tractor fuel in and that does me for the week, a justifiable business decision in my book

Another reason is another usual one when owning a D3, car park spaces. They've just built a new car park, with underground heating no less, and the spaces are barely enough for a standard saloon car so there's no way I'm putting it at daily risk of dings and scratches. Once the weather improves the van will go the journey and the bike will take over commuting duties
