Cam Sensor Replacing
I've had starting issues recently and after Googling the symptoms I'm 99% sure it's the cam sensor failing.
Is this an easy job to replace or does it need to go up on a ramp at a garage and all that...? |

It doesnt require ramps but whilst the left side is relatively easy the right side requires removal of the viscous fan and, according to the service manual, removal of the bumper. See page 93/94 of the manual at tech dump.

Thank you. I'm confident it is the cam sensor though - booked in for repairs on Friday.

The garage confirmed was a sensor!
They said they'd make me a badge proclaiming me officially as a 'mechanic'. |

Yeah - that thread was started because the garage I normally use weren't picking up the phone or answering emails. I thought they'd all gone off on holiday.
As it turns out there was a fault with their line. I needed the car done asap hence the scrabble around for an alternate workshop. |
