Default It works!

OK people, I'm glad to confirm that the above BMW valve block is a direct swap with the AUDI one and is a much better and sturdier design, even the mounting tab matches and the threaded clip fits the BMW part too. No modifications required at all, the plug from the loom in the seat fits perfectly too.

You should budget around 4h to do the first seat, 2h after that for the second seat.
There is no special tools required other than a zip slider to zip up and then staple the bottom of the back rest as it was done at the factory.

That's amazing, many thanks. I think we need step-by-step explanations on that if you can do it please! It looks very scary to an amateur.

2016 Volvo V40 T5 Cross Country (4WD) with ALL the toys including adaptive cruise etc. etc. Osmium Grey with Blonde/Charcoal leather interior. Polestar performance "optimisation". (A much rarer model than a D2 S8 by the way!) Oh, and a brand new engine at just under 30,000 miles on the factory one!
Finally: gone, but not forgotten.....
1998 D2 PF S8. AgateGrey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.
e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)
1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon, Auto-dim mirror, Leather, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer.
And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

Haha I'm an amateur too!
I've ordered a set of assorted zips from amazon for 5.99. They should be here today for me to try. If i cant get it to work Ill just sew it all together.

I will try and make a guide, maybe a step by step start to finish one of on the drivers seat.

That is, indeed, a great discovery. I suspect very many of us suffer from the same problem and have been too intimidated by the work and parts availability to attempt a fix.

Current mods: solar sun roof, 20mm rear spacers, 15 mm on front, red brembo callipers, 6k headlights, rear view camera, engine remap, alloy dash dial rings, alloy navi rings, tt/phaeton pedal upgrade, (and custom matching foot rest) dension ipod interface & parrot hands free kit (both fully hidden), av input, tv in motion switched thro' PF switch in blanking plug right of steering column, Audi 'quattro' sill covers, repositioned centre console switches, radio clock, .
Planned mods: auto-dimming rear view mirror, dash cam (as steamship's), fit the ski hatch, refit philips drl's (or maybe not - nope, definitely not - horrible botch!).

Could you supply part numbers please and if possible some sources of supply at "reasonable" prices - was yours new, used or a "clone"?

The genuine Audi brand new one I have (4D0959931) came from the US, the supplier still has some and they're about US$80 each. Can't recall what I paid back when I got mine but the final price with shipping and import duty works out now to just over £100 to a UK address.
