Default 4.2L Vacuum hose

Hi everyone

I am getting multiple errors on my 2003 4.2L V8 D3 which seems to point to a vacuum issue - does anyone have an idiots guide on how and what vacuum hoses to replace ?

I just had to replace my vacuum line that connects the two combi valves; it's made of hard plastic and shattered like glass as I tried to trace it to its terminus. It was no doubt already broken/leaking. I used silicone soft vacuum line and saved the OEM giant thick "insulator" connectors; we'll see how that goes.
Generally I'd recommend doing one at a time and take lots of pics first.
BTW My DTCs persist (LEAN CONDITION BANK 1 and TWO) , not sure it's not a bad O2 sensor. There's also a vacuum hose going to the transmission as well as one to the rear right fenderwell(!) which I am dreading analysis!
Good luck,
-Tom

Check your MAF sensor on VAGCOM urgently and replace if necessary as lean condition on banks can be an indication of a faulty MAF sending erroneous engine management which then can affect both the engine and gearbox if left too long
