Steering judder on full lock
Hi All,
In my D3 on full lock I had the usual quattro judder, on my D4 the lock is much better than the D3 but on full lock I get this horrid feeling like it's skipping across the road.. Kind of like when you see an artic lorry go full lock and you can see the wheels simply can't turn so they kind of scrub .. Well I can't think how to explain it but it's not very nice.. Is this normal or do I need to get it to Audi? At car parking speeds I should point out! Thanks Ian |

Doesn't sound normal to me, very occasionally I have felt a bit of a judder on full lock - but it seems surface dependant - not all the time

Agree, as you describe it, it doesn't sound normal. I consider the "AWD" judder on a D4 is less noticeable than on a D3.

Interesting. . I will have to try it on a multitude of surfaces and see if it's that or something that is a problem.
Thank you i will get it checked out |

Check for uneven tyre wear, won't take much scrubbing to show up that way

Is it during all outside temperatures? My D3's front end with 255 section tyres does sort of scrub on full lock when its close to 0 degrees at low speeds. First time I thought i'd hit something!
