Default instead of spare tyre?

Hi Guys, as I have upgraded to 20'' with 40 profile, my tire diameter is now alot larger than my spare tyre(16'' original spare)

So it would damage the Torsen-Differential, if I were ever to use it I guess?

So looking for alternatives... I came across this: http://www.slime.com/shop/power-spai...air-kit-70004/

Can this be used?... seems to me like its the best alternative, any thoughts?

/Jake

Depends on the spare tyre profile, might not be as bad as you think.
Use a tyre site that has a size equivalence/compare "widget" on it, e.g.:
http://www.tyres-pneus-online.co.uk/...ce-advice.html
Not sure what the tolerance is on Torsen (5% maybe).
If it's too far out just get a different profile tyre (used will do - plenty around at low prices) on the spare.

Personally I like my spare to be the same as the other 4, so both my cars have 2 sets each (summer/winter) of 5 identical wheels. Though the spares are usually a bit "tattier" and maybe not with the best tyres either.

2016 Volvo V40 T5 Cross Country (4WD) with ALL the toys including adaptive cruise etc. etc. Osmium Grey with Blonde/Charcoal leather interior. Polestar performance "optimisation". (A much rarer model than a D2 S8 by the way!) Oh, and a brand new engine at just under 30,000 miles on the factory one!
Finally: gone, but not forgotten.....
1998 D2 PF S8. Agate Grey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, Tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.
e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)
1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon. Added Auto-dim mirror, Leather seats, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer.
And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

Actually I was kinda excited on the idea of using the sparewheel-room for storage

So I will see what people say on the Slime-idea before thinking about getting a new tyre for the spare.

But thanks for your input, much appriciated

Also worth noting that once used the tyre cannot be repaired, or never used to be able to as it reacts with the inside and patches won’t stick. Obviously if you got a 20” tyre with 6mm of tread you don’t want to have to scrap it.

I’d be looking to HP says have a look for a 16” tyre the same dia as a 20” then ebay or if you have someone local that deals in second hand tyres as it’s just the spare.

Yeah I get what your saying, as I read this Slime though, it says it can be rinsed out afterwards with no problem(unlike other tyre-inflation-foams on the market) but this might be untrue?

Appriciate the input

Well you can anyway, plenty of space inside the wheel, I keep all sort of stuff there...
Though there's more room inside a 20" than a 16".....

Good for LPG and i was going to do this but the problem is that if you have a blow out there is no amount of foam that will help you there sadly, otherwise i would be happy to keep my boot space and have the LPG in the spare wheel well, only thing is i would be limited to only 40L or so tank

I didn't read that mate sorry. My bad.
Smart cars didn't come with a spare they have a tin of stuff instead.

As Guy says a blow out would be a pain for sure.
Either way the jack that Audi have given you to lift the 8 is more than likely to fail anyway.
