Audi 4.2 V8: The Aluminum Beating Heart - Great watch
Hi Guys and Girls,
Just spent the last two hours watching this. It tells the story of the Naturally Aspirated Audi 4.2 V8 Engine and the development into their cars. It starts with the D2 S8 and finishes with the RS5. It not only talks about the engines, but also covers the actual cars and performances It's a great watch. Hope you enjoy watching it. I also hope the link works. Happy New year everyone Regards, David https://www.youtube.com/watch?fbclid...ature=youtu.be

25 minutes in so far and they do love the D2!

Aftermarket DVB-T, reversing camera and full XCarlink (Bluetooth etc.). 2016 Volvo V40 T5 Cross Country (4WD) with ALL the toys including adaptive cruise etc. etc. Osmium Grey with Blonde/Charcoal leather interior. Polestar performance "optimisation". (A much rarer model than a D2 S8 by the way!) Oh, and a brand new engine at just under 30,000 miles on the factory one! Finally: gone, but not forgotten..... 1998 D2 PF S8. AgateGrey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors. e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later) 1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon, Auto-dim mirror, Leather, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer. And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850! |

I got to the end of the D2 part. My takeaway is, if you have a D2 S8 do not sell it. You're holding an appreciating classic.
As if you didn't already know that Oh! And please hang onto the original Avus 18" wheels. Some day you will realise how well they suit your car (unless you have an actual FE)

It was a good watch. The little thing that peaked my interest was something mentioned just passing by towards the end of show - Koenigsegg 2.0l 3 cylinder camless engine producing 600BHP so I had to do more research

Excellent viewing. They seemed to think the engines were bulletproof, but no mention of the oil cooler pipe.....
