Default Rear calipers cost for S8?

Morning All,

My rear calipers bleed nipples are seized and I need to flush the brake fluid. What are my options?

I'm going to get my fronts refurbished so wanted new or refurbished rears to match.

My thoughts:

1. New set of rears from TPS? Anyone know the price for 2 x rears? If so is that on an exchange basis?
2. Refurbished rears - any recommendations?
3. Non original calipers - pattern part? Can you get them and are they any good?

Thoughts and comments welcome.

Cheers
Rich

I had one of mine seized; had to get a whole new caliper. Wasn't that outrageous. Garage did it all so no idea if it was an exchange.

There's a rear left on ebay for cheap.

If you go the refurb route, I would recommend Bigg Red Calipers (nr Worcester). They cost me £198 to fully refurb and paint both rear calipers. There is a cheaper option dependent on required finish.

I recently had to change mine. Looked around but actually there aren't any non OEM ones out there that are a decent fit as far as I'm aware. OEM is safest and wasn't too bad - about £380 fitted as I recall.

I changed both of my rears in 2014, I used brakeparts.co.uk to buy new calipers. I think I went for TRW Aftermarket New Caliper. It came to £274 for the pair, but re-claimed £60 by sending old calipers back. New calipers still going strong 3 years later.

Don't go to Brake Calipers Specialists in Long Easton, Nottingham! See my post earlier this afternoon.

All parts I install on my car I buy brand new genuine Audi from TPS.
Always cheaper in the long run.

I got mine exchange from BMS in Oldham around £95 each ( I do get trade discount from there) they are only Lucas calipers not Audi on the Back. They are Referbished by Budweg and are the correct Alloy Lucas calipers and look as good as new fully plated the same as OEM. I was impressed! Brakes international are the Autherised Dealer for Budweg, all they do is Brakes!! a great company to deal with I've used them for over 20 years

Thread resurrection!

I’ve decided to replace with genuine rears from Audi. Is there a slider/guide kit available for these? Is it worth doing or just leave them?
