Default number plate surround loose

Chaps

The colour coded boot lid insert that the number plate sits in seems a little loose on one side. however I can't see what holds it in.

Any tips before I break anything trying to remove to fix this?

thanks

Mark

5 screws from inside the boot lid into the plastic. Pretty sure it's 5.... (and one is a bit of a swine to get at, obscured by the locking mechanism)

I had mine off (and replaced it in fact) as part of my reversing camera install. Get the boot lid liner off and all will become apparent.

IIRC on both my original and replacement more than one of the pillars that the screws go into had split open.

There's also a fair bit of black gunk spread around...…

Just noticed mine is similar on one side and sounds like some debris rattling around behind it too, did you manage to successfully repair yours?

thanks

not as yet, in the faf to get it off it seemed to end up sitting better, so for the moment I've left it alone as more urgent things came up
