This pump was in stock at Warrington Audi so appears to be a common fault.
It is used on a lot of different models/types in the VW group so I guess a VW dealer would sell it cheaper whilst Bentley-Crewe would charge triple.

Old thread I know but as I started it I'm updating it as I've finally got round to replacing the damn thing after three years!

I had no other symptoms other than the fault code coming up in every scan I've ever done since I bought the car as it always come up to temperature and was always warm in the cabin by the time I reached the motorway like all the other 8's I've had.

Turns out on the 2014 Facelift 4.2TDi the HVAC Coolant Pump is located low down on the O/S/F and access is by removing the arch liner not in the plenum chamber like most other threads I've read.

Just wanted to close the loop in case anyone else stumbles across this thread in their quest for a fix.

Thanks & kind regards,
-=Glyn=-
