Default 2019 Annual meet - The Eden Project

Hi all,

Sunday of the Annual Meet will see us visiting the amazing Eden Project in St Austell:

We will leave the hotel at 10:00 and follow the A39 to Truro then the A390 to St Austell, arriving at Eden for 11:00 or so where we will have reserved parking in 'Banana' car park. This will be a great photo opportunity as we can park all the 8s together in an arc. We then assemble at the meeting point at the centre of the car park and walk in to the Visitor Centre where we will be met by our two tour guides.

From 11:30 to 12:30 we will split in to two groups for guided tours round the Rainforest and Mediterranean Biomes.

The split will be arbitrary btw, unless anyone has a preference. They're both spectacular and you can explore the other one after lunch.

Following the tour you can get lunch at various facilities around the site. The main cafe is Eden Kitchen in the link building between the two biomes. There is also a Mediterranean-themed cafe in the Mediterranean biome, and another cafe in the Core building. Mike and I can report that the pasties are excellent

After lunch, you can then explore the rest of the site at your leisure, including the other biome and the outside gardens. There's usually a seasonal exhibition of some description, and plenty of activities for kids. It is very easy to spend the entire day here

Prices:

Adult - £15
Senior (60+) £13
Child (5-16) £7.50
Under 5s - free
Students - £13

We will need to collect payment in advance please so we can pay Eden in a single transaction.

For those with limited mobility, Eden can offer a buggy service from the car park to the Visitor Centre - please note below if you need this service. Land trains then run regularly from the Visitor Centre to the biomes. The site is accessible by wheelchair, and these can also be provided but are limited. Again, please note below if you need this.

You know the drill
