Popped in to my mates workshop to last week to get my old pipes removed and get some new ones fitted.

The tool to remove the old pipes.

Pipe/s off.

Old vs new.

Old tail pipes off.

Gave them a bit of a polish.

Cutting.

Side cut?

Down cut?

In the end I decided on this.

We ran out of time and had to vacate the workshop.

The exhaust tips on my car now looks like this.

That was done over a week ago.
Its taken a while to get the new tips on properly because we've been waiting for some laser cut end caps to connect the pipes to the exhaust but time ticking away and MOT on saturday gone we rushed it a little bit and got them fitted on Friday.
I'll go back and get them all properly fitted when the end caps arrive.

For now they look like this.

I'll get some better pics when its all done properly.

MOT day was saturday.
I dropped the car off at Audi at 0830 and left it with them.

I hate MOTs like many car people and at 1130 I had a phone call Audi, my heart was racing, I was bricking and I think he knew that cause the first thing he said after hello was that the car passed.
WooHoo.

Had a small list of advisories. 8 in total
4 relating to brakes, 1 about the brake warning light, 1 for the diesel cooler and 2 for engine covers.

The brakes it will get sorted out in time.
The warning light will get fixed when brakes are done.

The engine covers is going to be normal now cause they can't remove them.

My main worry is the diesel cooler.
Its dented.
I'll have to take a look in to that.

Might as well keep this going.

Been sat in my garage for almost a month due to time and weather.
Finally got round to fitting them about 2 weeks ago.

Easy enough to do, pull the old off and push these on.

Next is something I spoted that the 8V owners have started fitting.
It's a Audi 12V blank. About £4 from Audi. Part number A4H0 919 311.

Old

New

Not done anything exciting recently, just general maintenance like new bushes and tyres.

I did get time and the opportunity to polish the head lights and LED them.

Turning lights next.

You can also make your own loom for the front sidelights like this with holders from ebay for about £4

Is that in series or parallel?

They run in parallel, the loom plugs into the existing sidelight holder in place of the normal bulb to power two sidelights instead.
One of these is an LED which you then fit in the headlight, the other one you tuck out of the way - i also made a little cage to try to stop the old bulb from touching stuff that may melt

The holders i bought are these on ebay

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181178128998

Though they seem to have sold out now
