Default Someone doesn't like their new car...

Not me, I love mine but this A5 was parked outside Audi Chelmsford when I went there earlier...

…and I bet it'll stay parked there until Audi pay a bit more attention to him.

2003 D2 FL S8. Irish Green Pearl/Beige. Solar sunroof, auto-dim mirrors, electric rear seat functions, ski hatch retrofit; extended leather. Aftermarket DVB-T, reversing camera and full XCarlink (Bluetooth etc.).
2016 Volvo V40 T5 Cross Country (4WD) with ALL the toys including adaptive cruise etc. etc. Osmium Grey with Blonde/Charcoal leather interior. Polestar performance "optimisation". (A much rarer model than a D2 S8 by the way!) Oh, and a brand new engine at just under 30,000 miles on the factory one!
Finally: gone, but not forgotten.....
1998 D2 PF S8. AgateGrey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.
e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)
1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon, Auto-dim mirror, Leather, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer.
And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

Subtle, very subtle.

Let's hope someone listens!

It's well known with the 2.0t engine particularly in the A5

Most seem to get done free of charge but I gather that's changed again, presumably because it was costing them too much money

I like how it's also 'For Sale'.

Don't fancy his chances of selling it much!

By contrast, my S8 (with over 100K on the clock) uses almost no oil at all between services.

But there's a good looking D2 parked just in front of it. Which probably doesnt use any oil at all!

My cr@ppy phone pics don't do it justice but the detailer took a few himself so will post them soon.

Its crazy that these modern engines are so unreliable or even possibly badly made. Wasn't there something about M3 or M5 crank shaft bearings a few years ago?
High time to switch to electricity I say, no more of this oil and fuel business, bearings, seals etc. Well, much fewer at least.

Interesting, and I sort of agree. I actually use the comparison between the complexity of a fuel based car and the relative simplicity of it's electric equivalent at work to clients to demonstrate how, as humans, we build in complexity over time. Far fewer parts, more efficient, simpler, etc etc….
