You are not alone, i also run on lpg and find that if my petrol gauge needle goes into the red it will keep moving to the left even though i'm running on lpg. Like you I assumed i was leaking petrol, but was not able to find any evidence of it. It is odd, however if i keep my petrol gauge needle always to the right of the red zone the needle movement is never obvious. I generally put about £25 of petrol in when the needle gets close to the red and i this seems to last me around 6weeks i think. The amount of petrol i use certainly doesn't make me feel i have a leak and i know it's not running on petrol for long after starting because it's changing over to lpg within 1-2 miles. So it's not something i worry about now i just keep smiling about putting fuel in my car that at the moment costs me 64.9p/l from Morrisons!!
