Thanks.
I wonder if the additional 2 cylinders of the V10 increase the length of the engine too much, removing all potential access space?

Ugh. Just wrote a bunch of stuff about the job on a V8 and then realised yours is a V10. Thats a totally different job since it's a chain-drive engine. It will be engine out for that if the cam tensioner stuff is part of the chain drive on the back of the engine.

Edit - definitely engine out. The cam adjusters are a completely different design to the belt-drive V8s so if its rattling from the back its probably time to replace all the tensioner gubbins.

Can't find a pic of the V10, but it looks to be a similar concept to the V8:

Great, you’re hired, I’ll be in touch! Seriously, something you can do?

I’ll bring it down so you can have a listen and pass an opinion.

That's not something I would take on sorry. I've never done it before so don't have any of the special tools which are undoubtedly needed. Plus it's not a D2

Happy to listen to it though

MJ, please, please please start working on D3s!

I'm sure I'm in store for a bundle of odd noises that I'd love for you to diagnose!
