LPG Guage & questions
Could someone tell me how this works. I've just been doing guess work at the moment. When the light is on the right does that mean its running on petrol and left =s LPG.
Pressing the button alternates between the two? When the light is at its last illumination how much LPG should I have left? What miles are others running LPG getting? Thanks in advance  Pic of my guage

All guages will work in a similar fashion.
The green leds in a line indicate how much gas is in the tank. Beware though as it works on the pressure in the tank, and that wont go down linear-ly, so you get the first light going out very quickly, the next 2 reasonably quickly and the last one normally stays lit for ever and then eventually starts flashing, but still runs for miles after that. When its on petrol, its normally indicated by a red LED but note that if you are giving it some hoof, it might feed petrol to the engine without necessarily indicating that on the display so bewarned.... It depens how good your system is as to how high up the rev range it will supply that V8 with juice. Mileage-wise, with the S8 engine I can get max 250 miles, usually nearer 220 but I would expect yours being an ABZ and DTD to get nearer 300 even though it may be a slightly smaller tank. All you can do is tank it up, reset the trip counter and keep driving. When it runs dry, make a note for next time..... I always drive off the trip counter, the status LED's are largely useless....

not all guages are pressure driven... I've watched my LPG bloke change a level whose float had punctured whilst the gas sat there boiling away
 on mine( 4.2. A8 ) I used to get ~ 250 - 280 per tank full so would look to fill up soon after it hit 230 ish as I had a station at either end of my commute it worked well. Some systems can be programmed so you can force a start on LPG. Its worth having it configured just in case there is ever an issue with your petrol system. on mine you had to switch it to petrol then switch to gas and hold for 10 seconds to trigger it. The relay would click over and teh light would flash till it started. The portal stopped working a while ago but I'm happy for my figures to be published at any time if the data is still there.

Ahh, that makes more sense now. When I filled it up it was on the last illumination and I only managed £24 or so in IIRC and I thought that was odd for a 77l tank. How big was your tank Entwisi?
So I'll fill up when it starts flashing from now on. I'm still getting used to having done 200 miles in it and the petrol tank still showing full off to Ben's for a health check later and maybe a MAF change if it needs it, seeing as it made such a diffrence in Mike's car.

Bear in mind you'll only get about 80-90% of your tank full anyway, as it will never truely empty so if you have a 77l tank, expect to get between 60 and 70 l in if you've run it 'dry'
Also, its worth burning some of that petrol off, no sense carting all that weight about, I generally keep my petrol to less than half a tank... plus, it goes off over time anyway, so you dont want it in there for months... When it 'runs out' it should just switch to petrol automatically and probably start beeping at you.....

Used up all the LPG today, got 288 miles out of it, 70% motorway and 30% town. So I filled up again. £35 for a full tank, well I got 55 litres in.

Nope, I just couldn't find an LPG station, had no sat nav you see and don't know my way around Burton on Trent very well! It started beeping on the M42 on the way home which I am assuming meant it was telling me it was now running on petrol. Gave me a chance to use up some fuel though. Didn't get a flashing light. Ben says my system is the same as Mike's so maybe Mike can comment on weather its meant to flash when it gets low? Going to get the LPG serviced now, hasn't been done in a year and a half.
Just found a 'Find a LPG station' app on the I Phone though which I will download tonight.

Mine is a 90L tank and I could fit about 75 litres from empty. I always sat at ~ 85 and wasn't shy about gettiong there either. I reckon i could have broken 300 miles if I tried. If Ian can post my data there was one fill where I drove like a nun to see how well it went but got stuck in traffic for an hour on the last journey which brought it down.
Mine didn't flash either ( PRINS ) it was red then would bleep to tell me it had switched over but I had to press teh button to shut it up. I'm hoping mine is running again by teh time I get home from South Africa but I'm afraid it will only be a case of MOT and then up for sale...... much that I loved driving it it has simply cost me far too much money and I just couldn't face another bill. Someone will be getting a car thats had a lot of stuff done in teh last 12 months Current list Gearbox full rebuid water pump cam belt and service alternator TPS ( i hope its just this.... ) tow bar LPG service including vapourisor seals/filters etc more that I can't even remember now......
