I didn't get it from a website. I've not been able to find such a site that can give that detail.

I made a phone call to somebody and asked that person if they wouldn't mind doing a VIN check for me.
As that person was doing me a favour, I don't feel comfortable in naming them in public as it may open them up to numerous calls (and cost?).
And I may want them to do it again in the future

From memory FEs often quote the wrong code for the ‘wood’ finish. My Avus was the same

I don’t think there was a way to add options to an FE spec unless adding a factory towbar

The level of dead cow varied with exterior colour, but all should have matching colour steering wheel and gear selector. Earlier colour launches seemed to get more. Think black and red were last colour choices launched at slightly lower prices and got less cow

There was a lot of detail in an old thread - will try and find it

That pretty much sums up my car.
Listed as Vavona but has Myrtle wood.
The only extra I can see is the addition of a towbar.
The only extra leather was on the upper part of the door where the usual (to me) Alcantara panel above the grab-handle is now a grey leather panel.

However, I have made a very subtle mod which I hope doesn't annoy any purists with OCD. I fitted chrome rings around the four cluster dials

You're right about FE's having errors on the build sticker, but not just on the wood. My leather is listed on the sticker as platinum, but it's silver grey. And not all FEs had the matching gear selector either. Plus, the amount of dead cow varies pretty much at random and isn't always related to the exterior colour. The FE spec, as discussed in detail previously, was certainly a moving feast - the only real constants seem to be the limited paint & leather colours, the colour-coded steering wheel, dark myrtle 'wood' (?) and the phone prep!

Current mods: solar sun roof, 20mm rear spacers, 15 mm on front, red brembo callipers, 6k headlights, rear view camera, engine remap, alloy dash dial rings, alloy navi rings, tt/phaeton pedal upgrade, (and custom matching foot rest) dension ipod interface & parrot hands free kit (both fully hidden), av input, tv in motion switched thro' PF switch in blanking plug right of steering column, Audi 'quattro' sill covers, repositioned centre console switches, radio clock, .
Planned mods: auto-dimming rear view mirror, dash cam (as steamship's), fit the ski hatch, refit philips drl's (or maybe not - nope, definitely not - horrible botch!).

Don't forget that as-seen spec will probably have changed since new, so what you see may well be the result of changes that happened since build. Even cars delivered to dealers may have been changed e.g. steering wheel or gear selector, to suit a buyer who didn't fancy the full colour leather.

My old one had the Myrtle wood trims fitted to the window switch surrounds to replace the painted plastic, which I suspect a number have had done as the painted ones mark easily.

This thread, I think, gives the most accurate info in terms of new spec and launch dates/prices

Platinum is the colour of the base plastics - all FE's are 'Platin Hell' - Sill trims, lower b pillar trims, etc.

In non FE's, the leather _usually_ follows the base plastic colour but can vary.

S3G is the build code for a special build, and at that point, the colour of the leather is pretty much a gamble. Only a call to the factory would confirm what it actually left with at that point.
