New “Noise Cameras” on the way?
July 1, 2019 Dear All, The Department for Transport have confirmed that they will be testing “noise cameras” in multiple locations across the UK over the coming months. They are just like speed cameras, only they measure the noise of your vehicle instead! And no doubt you will receive a fine in the post just another example of there being .... Too many idiots in charge if this country

My exhaust would probably destroy the microphone inside it (or whatever means they use to record the noise). How the hell would they police that? I mean what if someone with a loud car was driving past the other way? Or if someone had loud music on? Or it was a really windy day with strong gusts? Bloody ridiculous... |

What actually does the measuring anyway? Is it a special mic, or piezo crystals or is it done by measuring the pressure? How is it actually measured? And more specifically, how do they measure in a given direction?
