Default Label file for the 32V engines

Hi all,

Mike and I have been working on his recent acquisition today and to our surprise, VCDS is missing the label files for the 32V ECUs. Given how many of them are around, especially in the US, this is a bit odd.

Are we missing something, or has everyone just been guessing what the measuring blocks mean for the past 20 years...

Tia,
MJ

Scant info to be found from the quick search i did, but assuming you have lbl files for another engine of same era then would just compare to what vcds presents with no label file.

I found this info and it seems like the label file would be rather easy compared to the d3 twin ecu file i had to make.

Have a look at the following link to see if it matches up with what yo have

Just had a look through my vcds folders and there is quite a few of the 4D files in the oldest labels folder.

What engine code is it your looking for?

I have had no issues on AHC engine, most of measuring blocks if not all are showing correct values and labelling. Have not noticed anything missing on 3.7(AEW?) either.

Mike's (old Dezzy's) would be ABZ I have not actually checked measuring blocks on that but I think that was the most popular 32V engine so I would expect it to be at least just as good as AHC.

Thats what I thought ^ Neither Mike's copy or mine have files for the AHC, AEW or ABZ Both have updated recently, but there's nothing in older or oldest either, or in a fresh install of VCDS lite on another PC.

The ECU number is 4D0 997 557 or 4D0 907 557. I think thats the same for all 32V, just with different suffixes for different versions. The label file should be 4D0-997-557.lbl I think (or 4D0-907-557.lbl) but there is nothing even close.

Surely they aren't retiring old files and removing them?

It is deffo ABZ
Is it still missing? Was fine when parked up so I can't see it being given much, I thought it would clear as she warmed up. Plugs are not that old.

Thanks David, you're right I do need to update my sig. The 8 however needs no warranty it's bullet proof. Sold as seen well not even, the new owner was foaming at the mouth saying something like if only he could get his S to look as good.

077-907-557-ABZ.LBL,4D0-907-558-K ; ABZ (4D) Thats from the redirect info but of course the files not there.

I cant imagine there is much differences between that engine and the others like i mentioned.

It's quite easy to modify another label file and leave in your user folder once you have made sure the blocks actually match up.

I modified all three w12 lbl files to fit the V10 the ECU's.

I you want some help just give me a shout.
