I knew it! i JUST knew it....... MOT a coming up..car starts acting the goat. Every damn time and every car i've owned
Taking a gentle pootle into town notice a whole new peculiar creaky groany noise.....hmmmmmm, abandon shopping trip (making me very popular i can assure you) and whizz it up on jacks and oh joy, 1 very recently dead cv boot (still got some grease in the joint and back part of boot so its recent), 3 tonnes of cv grease on every surface you can imagine and a few you can't and 1 crippled '8. SON OF A ............ New boot from factors £10, easy peasy, but the hub nut is a stretch bolt and shouldn't be reused apparently, audi don't have them (why would they!?) so its delayed till tuesday at 8 squids plus osbornes share. Damn, blast, curse....etc etc and then its convincing the bottom arms to let go.....i could be at this for some time i hate the run up to MOT time. (i'm almost tempted to use a sticky boot as an emergncy get me moving option. almost) |

Your not alone. Just found one on nearside forward. I will be reusing the stretch bolt though. Just stretching it a bit further!!!!!

must be the warm weather?!
don't fancy reusing my bolt........i'd hate to get it nearly tight and it going ping leaving half the little tinker stuck in my drive shaft, and knowing my luck, thats exactly where i'll end up either that or the wheel will drop off.................... hopefully i'm not that unlucky |
