Mine's an 02 Reg. Boot sticker date is 05/02, with a delivery/registration date of 28/06/02.

Also, in the photo, it looks Ebony Black to me (same as mine)

Sorry, I didn't have time to read all the replies if I'm honest! There was only a couple of replies when I first looked

From the photos, it looks almost identical to my car (and therefore probably The_Laird's too).

My bad on the blinds, (im slipping!) but pretty sure the presence of autodim exterior mirrors is conclusive.... Also Gearshift should match wheel and seats...

WF is platinum, but the plastics on all FE's are platinum regardless of leather colour. The FE's have essentially exclusive leather so its not normally on the build sticker...

Does it have auto-dim interior mirror? If not, it shouldn't have dimming exterior as the sensor input for the exterior glass is the interior one and when new you had to specify the interior mirror first, then the exterior auto dimming on top of that. Neither could be had as standard on an FE. We're kind of ignoring the fact most of us have messed with the specs to some degree as well, so although mine's an FE it doesn't have the fixed FE spec any more Quite possible it's a retrofit either when new or subsequent.

I've seen an FE with red leather where the steering wheel had been swapped for a platinum one - gear selector is another easy one to swap.

Since FE was only for the UK market I don't think there's a definitive way to check? Mine has an unknown spec when it comes to paint code, I just have ----/---- under the AVP engine code, and when you search on ETKA it pulls up a message with an e-mail address for Audi Individual to confirm spec details. Since Avus was only ever offered on FEs it may not apply if the regular paint code was offered anyway?

I could be wrong about the exterior dimming mirrors. I've owned a lot of Audis, and my friends all have them, easy to think of the wrong car! Will check when I get home in a couple of weeks.

I believe from the photos you can see the very faint outline on the door mirrors which is where the dim boundary runs to.

Also, I cannot see the manual dim switch on the bottom of the rear view.

Agreed, retrofittable, but the door mirrors rarely are as you have to run a wire from both doors all the way back to the rear view mirror for the dim output and is more effort than folk would go to....

Im conscious im stomping all over a very genuine car for sale thread though, so I'm going to shut up now and leave any genuine punters a chance of speaking...
