1998 PF S8 for sale

It is a sad day for me, as I have to part with my beloved S8.
The economics of my situation following a very drawn out and messy divorce dictates that I can no longer afford to keep her (on £140 a week disability) and doing 10 or so airport runs for my fiancée to Luton from here in very West Wales.

She's not particularly highly specified, but is a very nice drive, unfortunately the lacquer on the front n/s wing and bumper, rear o/s wing is a little tatty but its quite sortable.
Neil and Guy have seen the car, the 'oil cooler' leak has been sorted and she neither drops or uses oil.
The output shaft oil seals have also been done, so no leaks, nasty oily smells or smoke from there either...
The climate control is working perfectly, and was regassed last summer, as it was a little weak (though still working), four years after the previous re-gas.
Cruise control works fine too, as does virtually everything ....

She is in silver (L7YM) with black interior, and covered 112k miles,
has MOT until July '15
Tax until end of January '15.
Full history up until 10k miles ago (I had the last service done at Sinclair Audi Neyland, who have done most of the work on her)
I have retrofitted a BOSE sound system and it all works well.
I fitted a brand new n/s folding ally mirror to her last year, both sides work fine, and I'll include the old unit and a spare boot divider as well as the original loudspeakers (Nokia)
There is an auto dimming mirror, which I didn't get around to retrofitting, that will go with the car too.

She has to go this week, as I'll be cashing in the tax, and I have her on temporary insurance whilst I have 2 cars.

WBAC made a provisional offer of £906 all issues declared...

So gentlemen, I'll be looking for offers in that region if anyone here is interested.

Hi There,

Shame you are not closer. I could be very tempted as I want another S8. Had a '98 PF at the begining of the year before the gearbox died. Sounds like she is in good working order if a little tatty on the paintwork

Good luck with the sale as that seems a good deal

To be honest, I'd probably accept £750 - 800 at the moment, as those pirates have dropped their valuation after 2 weeks!

So its goodbye to an old friend, someone who appreciates you will now lavish the care and attention an old girl like you needs .... I will miss you, but

Lucky Person.....As I said if you were closer i'd have probably bitten your hand off. Glad she is not going to be scrapped and is going to someone who will apprieciate her

Im glad someone saved it.

Id have took it had I not got so many damn cars & not enough room for more. Iv spent the past few days trying to think of how I could have justified ANOTHER car to the wife

Couldn't have had it auctioned by WBAC

Yeah..... She went to a forum member, who already has a FL S8, but wanted a project PF S8 to go with it....

So I'm glad she has a future and another one of these fine vehicles will be kept on the road...

I would have kept her if I could have, but circumstances dictate otherwise. I'd tried to remain 'brand loyal', originally wishing for an A6 Avant, or even an A4 Avant, but all I could find in 8 months searching were way overpriced sheds with zillions of faults and starship mileages....

After a Passat Sport (which was 1 week in my tenure & got my S8 & cash back, as it was so awful) ended up with a highly specced mint & low mileage 05 Mundano Ghia X estate for a third of the cost of most of the aforesaid 'sheds' (& half the cheapest A4 tdi saloon & £750 less than the Passat)
..... practical, but noisy, uninspiring & a pile of poo after an '8'
