Fitted ATE discs and pads all round on my S8 (D3) earlier this year, they're good quality and were described as OEM when imported from Germany

So in theory, could my A8 run the 323mm rotors? I'm running factory optioned 18's, .... just that the 314mm were a pain to locate (here in australia anyway) and the 323mm was everywhere pretty much
Caliper is different on 323mm brakes to allow for pads to sit further from the center.

I used their pads on my 20v , remember them as being good grip, fade free but not long life

That pad shape seems to be used on a few Audi's around the same era, so im hoping my supplier can get them.

I'm not too fussed about not long life (either pad or rotor) as between this and my 740iL, they'll be lucky to do 10,000km each a year ... maybe even only 7500km.

Yep definitely need to change the remsa's on there, ... just went for a fun drive down the road with my mate driving, ... when we stopped at the shops the fronts were smoking, and wasnt even being driven too hard at all

*edit*

Thank You for being such a great help. .... I posted up a question today on Bimmerforums with something to do with my 740iL, and I got spoken down upon like I knew nothing about what I was trying to explain (yet i've had an E12, E30, E36, 2x E39's and now this E38). ... I advised that the Audi forumers were a lot more welcoming than they were

Actually thats a though, putting a set of the brembo's and the 323's could be an option if I can find a set cheap enough. I know here the 323mm are cheaper rotors, and the brembo's are cheaper pad wise than Euro-Type A

Brembos will be a bit more complicated as they have different attachment to wheel bearing housing (or upright or hub or call it whatever you like) so you would need to change them too.
