2016 Volvo V40 T5 Cross Country (4WD) with ALL the toys including adaptive cruise etc. etc. Osmium Grey with Blonde/Charcoal leather interior. Polestar performance "optimisation". (A much rarer model than a D2 S8 by the way!) Oh, and a brand new engine at just under 30,000 miles on the factory one!
Finally: gone, but not forgotten.....
1998 D2 PF S8. AgateGrey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.
e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)
1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon, Auto-dim mirror, Leather, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer.
And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

Technically it is possible as a retro fit however to do it correctly the bumper is different and would require a new bumper on the D3 to change from the round fogs to the square ones

Facelift did get upgrades to suspension and soundproofing, other than that just cosmetic such as fog lights, rear lights and some chrome trims in the interior. Later facelifts also had 3G MMI.

Whats the difference between sport and Se, obviousely depends what boxes were ticked, but all it seems to suggest is suspension sits 20mm lower. Surely thats overcome by droplinks / vagcom?

From memory; lower suspension, 19" wheels, flappy paddle gear shifters, sport seats. There is an old brochure available to download here with full details.

Also, the struts are different, so yes you can lower the SE by 20mm, but it's not the same as Sport suspension.

There are lots of subtle differences between them.

As Audifin said
Rear lights
Rear S8 boot on all sport models
No led repeater on the front wing
New larger wide angle mirrors + indicator built in.
Bi xenon as standard (optional afs + afs2)
Square Foglights
Piano black grills
Interior wise additional chrome trims
Glossy higher definition mmi screen
Chrome accents on instruments + wide screen as standard
Chrome push button starter
Advanced sound proofing
Optical parking as standard
And of course optional 3G MMI system from 2009-2010
