...and this was with the Tesla driver seemingly asleep for the standing start - and reflects my real world experience as well of the Model S vs others on everyday roads.

Why is it hardly like for like ?
Both are in the same price range, one is petrol and one electric.

Haha - very funny Marcin, you know fine well why it ain't - but if you're in the mood for silly video comparisons, how about this clip of a 7 seater SUV "smokin'" a GT-R?

Well, maybe I'm stupid, but why not??
Why is ok to compare it to C63, RS6 and BMW 760 and not to GTR??
Yeah, GTR has lost to SUV, but Tesla lost to GTR so goal accomplished

I'm not slagging any driver off who owns Tesla, I just don't like or believe in electric cars even if they will become the future of motor industry.

Tesla Model S prices are dropping nicely, at this rate they will soon be a real bargain when you take future fuel and roadtax costs into account.
90D on for £55k, from a new price around £92k (based on Tesla website current price). That's a 40% drop in 2 years. Seems to be bang on with any normal car depreciation curve, roughly 20% per year.

There's a P85D on there for £65k, I wonder how much that dropped.

My rough estimate is that a D2 costs around £35k in 10 years in fuel and other costs if you do around 10k miles per year. So when Model S drops to roughly that price it will be well worth it, assuming the battery lasts 10 years from point of purchase.

You're right Goran, they are seemingly becoming cheaper - though that's partly because the Brexit-related devaluation of sterling has increased the ticket price of a new model S by around 15% in the last two years (the equivalent of mine would cost c.£15k more, last time I looked...).

The other key factor is that - for the first time - Tesla have actually been discounting new vehicles, particularly Model Ss, as they start to the feel the "I'll wait for a Model 3 at half the price" effect, and this is bound to continue to put pressure on second hand values for quite a while: doesn't impact on me though, as I'm keeping mine
