Default AUDI S8 V10 D3 - 480bhp dyno verified, FASH, 78K - £14,250

Reluctantly, I am now selling my S8, I have been thinking about it for a while as life, commitments and the new business dividend tax is forcing me down the dreaded oil burning diesel dog route. I’ve had my head in the sand about the amount of miles that I do for a while and I don’t like the idea of putting the miles on the S8 (as pleasurable as that may be) as well as the fuel cost associated with it.

During my ownership she has been very well looked after (at considerable cost) and all the common D3 errors that are known to enthusiasts have been addressed, these are:

- Full Carbon Clean
- Intake flaps removed before they break and destroy the engine (common problem)
- Remapped flap-less and dyno’d at 480bhp & 400lb ft with printout and video to prove
- Poor factory fit leaking rear glass replaced professionally (common problem)
- Parking brakes replaced (common problem)
- New battery
- New tyres all round 1,500 miles ago (275/35/20 Vredesden Ultrac Vorti’s)
- Milltek Non-resonated catback exhaust system
- Leaky rear Led light replaced

The car benefits from a full Audi Service history and I have both keys, all manuals and documents and a folder of receipts that the wife doesn’t know about.

The car has been featured on Pistonheads: https://www.pistonheads.com/regulars...-carpool/36419

I mentioned the carbon clean and the dyno, if you have done your research on these cars you’ll know the FSI suffers from a carbon buildup, this is unavoidable and affects many models such as the S8, the RS4, etc… the clean needs doing properly by a professional, sprays, a cheap clean or a “terra clean” will not cut it and unless its done and the car categorically will not make even stock power, it’ll be considerably down.

On any S8 you look at, If there is no proof of a clean being done on a car it will not make even stock power - no exceptions.

Milltek exhaust: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Zo3RY6s27I

The car has been good as gold, averaging 19mpg, but peaking as high as 24mpg, which gives you an idea on how I drive the car, she has the occasional burst of speed, but certainly isn’t ragged, she’s been my reliable daily for the two years and mileage has only just tipped over the 78,000 mile mark.

Before I purchased the car initially, I had her fully inspected by the AA before purchase, at a cost of nearly £300 and they provided a full 24 page report, which I will happily also include with the sale, this as well as the clear HPI check shows the car to have genuine mileage and to have been very well looked after.

Spec is as follows:

* 2008 Facelift Model
* Bang & Olufsen Sound System (latest firmware and 2014 maps)
* Freeview, DAB radio and Audi Music Interface
* Rear DVD screens and Wireless Alpine headsets
* Extended leather
* Heated rear seats
* Rear door blinds
* Electric rear window blind
* Keyless entry (with two keys)
* Soft close doors (that all work)
* Remote electric boot
* Privacy glass and fingerprint recognition
* Upgraded PS5 pinhole leather MFSW
* The car has all manuals, booklets, history, warranty repair certs, MOTs, Tax discs and a pile of receipts from her past
* P13DKE private plate is also included
* Auto lights and Auto wipers, side illuminating turn lights

Recent history shows that:
* Both rear callipers and EPB’s have been replaced with new discs and pads all round (discs are the largest available Steel discs for the facelift)
* Both O/S door handles have been replaced, soft close doors and keyless entry all works
* The gearbox was serviced before my purchase by Mackies with the correct firmware updated, the gearbox is silky smooth
* A new front bumper, light, grille and associated items have been fitted by a warranted Audi approved garage, this was caused by an idiot driving into the car while it was parked at Stasnted airport carpark. It was repaired under insurance by Castle Coachworks with repair warranties.

I can say with complete confidence that the car is as good as you will find on the market at the moment and wants for nothing, if I didn’t travel so much I wouldn’t be selling.

PRICE: £14,250

Oh mate, that's tragic. I don't think I could ever sell that car. Even if I was skint I'd sell my house and live in the car!

It's truly beautiful and someone is going to be very happy. Once I've saved another £7k, I'll give you a call!

I've seen this car in the flesh and I can vouch for it's quality.

It's a real shame to hear you're selling it, but wish you the very best of luck with the sale.

I really really want this!

Why couldn't this be in 6 month's time, I would have bought this without a doubt!

Lol, it might still be... I’m aware the market for these is quite small and specialist and I don’t expect it to sell quickly, I’m in no rush and if I have to suck it up and still drive here, oh well, it’s not a penance.

It is a lovely example and I would have been interested except the spec (as Lee knows) just isn't quite right for me. Sounds like you have a potential deal there.....

2003 D2 FL S8. Irish Green Pearl/Beige. Solar sunroof, auto-dim mirrors, electric rear seat functions, ski hatch retrofit; extended leather. Aftermarket DVB-T, reversing camera and full XCarlink (Bluetooth etc.).
2016 Volvo V40 T5 Cross Country (4WD) with ALL the toys including adaptive cruise etc. etc. Osmium Grey with Blonde/Charcoal leather interior. Polestar performance "optimisation". (A much rarer model than a D2 S8 by the way!) Oh, and a brand new engine at just under 30,000 miles on the factory one!
Finally: gone, but not forgotten.....
1998 D2 PF S8. AgateGrey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.
e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)
1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon, Auto-dim mirror, Leather, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer.
And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

Spec is not everything I would want but to find 'your' perfect spec on a second hand car can be very difficult on high end car.

I will do some man maths later and see if I can at least get close to your price, then we can talk. You're not too far from me either which makes it even more appealing!

Is it originally a 57 or 08 plate?

Doh, I’m out and about at the moment so I don’t honestly know what the original reg was, I’ll check it when back home though, interesting question
