Default No response from controller !!

ok ether im thick as two by four or its the cable

i have vag com 409.1 and also vcds lite

i go to options and test com 4 and it connected and port status is ok

then any controller i try to get into just takes ages and then comes up saying
NO RESPONSE FROM CONTROLLER !

whats that all about ?

if any one can help me that would be great as its a long drive for me to get to the nearest member just to do a fault check (Godders)

it will also not let me do a full scan, it goes through the procedure of trying but after about 10 mins it just comes up that it could not access controllers

ps i have used this in the past on an 2.5 a6 with no problem ? so why not my D3 W12

IF your W12 is like most modern VAG cars then the 409 cable and VCDS lite will not be compatible with your car. All modern VAG cars require a full CAN connection to get to the controllers, neither the 409 cable or VCDS lite support this. You need at least version 10.6.4 and a full CAN capable lead.

Thank you, you have put my mind at ease, that would explain why it worked fine on the 2002 A6 2.5tdi but not my D3, so Rosstech it is then

Should do generic OBD codes, but any VAG stuff will need a CAN cable and modern VCDS.
