Perhaps this is even better match for D2 stock strut:

Febi part number: 31678
OE number: 4E0 827 551 A
Length: 408mm
Stroke: 152mm
Eject force: 300N
Housing diameter: 20mm
Piston rod diameter: 8mm

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/231510313292

Currently 6 in Uk stock. Seller accepts returns.

Anyone want to try this one?

Seems rather excessive postage (£19.99) for a single strut!

That would explain why no one else mentioned it, but even so, that is ridiculous postage for something weighing around 200g!

Just did a search and SGS Engineering (mentioned previously) sell them for £16.19 each and £5.30 for delivery (up to 25kg), but as far as I know, they are the black ones, not the chrome ones, which like the OP, is what I would like to get.

Sgs will do them with a stainless steel body and fittings, I've used them in the past for uprated springs on forklifts

I made email enquiries with them probably about a year ago about getting the D2 struts in stainless steel. Was told that they would have to price it up and get back to me. They never did, and I couldn't be bothered chasing it up.
