No problemo mate

Wait few more days and you will enjoy your new alu paddles and chrome steering wheel buttons

...then, Start button, door pockets, glove box handle with chrome trim, chrome gearbox knob.....and that's about it

Thanks everyone for checking this thread, nice comments and we hope you will find it useful one day.
One thing with no doubt, it is a great mod with little effort and decent price tag.
So far the only comments I'm getting: ''WOW, that is brilliant''

Good evening:
Let me bring back this fantastic thread to update the information.
Following the very clear explanations of @ScottD3 and @M-A8, i've found a more direct solution for the master switch.
In fact, the reference 4F0959851J is exactly the same than the one that Scott has in his A8, with the difference that with this reference, the dead lock buttons are exactly the same than the original ones and there's no need to swap the caps with the 8P master switch. This reference corresponds to the Audi Q7s from 2010 to 2015.
Here is a picture of the mentioned part

Thanks a lot to the gurus of the forum that help to the less experimented, like me, to improve our cars.
Cheers from Spain

Whats the cost of this Q7 Master Switch ?
I have a Q7 with older plain switches with some worn buttons, this would be a nice mod if it wasn't huge money.

These were the chrome switches I went for. I like that the chrome wraps around the button more than the chrome just on the edge. The child lock buttons are a fraction different in shape but I can live with that. Once I have the plastic part on the door handle wrapped you wont see it anyway.

Around £40 for a used one in good condition if they pop up on eBay.

It doesn't cost much to find out (other than installation time )!

I fitted these to a spare set of door cards last year - I've not got around to fitting them in my car yet!

They are slightly wider than the original switches which causes them to rub when moving them up or down. I used a small file to carefully widen the gaps in the door handles and they seem to move smoothly now. I can upload some photos if this helps.

I finally fitted the 4F0959851J chrome switches in my MY08 S8 (bought brand new in Audi, 56 €+VAT) . After the little adaptation in the housing, mentioned before..... that's the result. Absolutely magnificent. The shape in the rear locks is the same that the original switches.

Chaps, I'm thinking of doing this upgrade. Anyone know if the later style switches fit?

these ones:
