Default Front anti-roll bar C links?

As far as I can tell there's no Meyle HD option for these (although there is for the coupling links) which I'm assuming is because you don't really want additional stiffness in the joints.

OEM or aftermarket option?

OEM is £42 each. Meyle non-HD are half that

I've got no evidence they've ever been changed so if they've lasted 13 years/62k miles there's probably no reason to buy anything other than OEM but interested in views before I order anything.

It's in for a service today, but they can't get the parts today anyway.

I have changed them with aftermarket items several times on different Audis, they do not last long. There was earlier version with ball joints instead of bushes on early cars but those have been discontinued and superseded with bush versions. I would prefer older version with ball joints or harder bushes and longer lasting myself. Only thing is making front harder could make car understeer even more so might need to make rear arb bushes harder as well. Anyhow next time I think I will give a go poly bushes. http://www.powerflex.co.uk/road-seri...Bush/1997.html

I got the lemforder version from euro car parts and they where the same as ones I pulled off the car, but with the Audi logo and part numbers machined off, superb quality very well made cheap and easy to change. Recommended

I forgot to update this thread! Ended up buying OEM from TPS. The ones I pulled off the car were OEM with 2002 date stamp, so appears they were the originals!

Useful to know the ECP ones appear decent

arent Lemforder considered 'OEM' ?

In the same way TRW are?

Be interested to who manufactured your TPS parts

TPS is owned by the uk vw/audi importer, so only sells genuine parts

There are many pattern parts advertised with some inference that they are 'oem' but in this day and age of Internet shopping it's incredibly difficult to know what you're getting before it turns up.

There have been dodgy TRW branded parts, especially suspension joints, where the castings are very rough compared to genuine oem parts

Thanks for that.
I had some TRW and Lemforder lower front control arms fitted recently and now have a shimmy now just above motorway speeds (not coming through the steering wheel) Pretty frustrating after the amount of money spent, so will check if the parts are genuine TRW and Lemforder.

First suspect would be alignment after the control arm replacement. It is recommended that full 4 wheel alignment is undertaken after such a job and including "s" measurement. See thread and stickies.
