Default Syncro passat

MY OLD CAR NOW MY WIFES VW PASSAT HAS WENT INTO LIMP MODE IS
IS ANYTHING WE CAN DO OR JUST SCRAP IT ????

First I would get the fault codes read to determine why its gone into limp mode.

Don't scrap it, the VW fans will go nuts for that model and the engine is only just nicely run in VW mileage wise. These can do starship mileages with the greatest of ease. I would repair and restore - its worth a bit if you do it properly. The Synchro T4 vans are like hens teeth and even when in lousy condition manage to sell for a lot, the Passat version is even more rare.

Errr, that's news to me. Passat Syncro B5/B5.5 aren't rare, or worth a lot. The T4 Syncro on the other hand commands a fair bit come sale time. The T4 Syncro is rare, not the Passat Syncro.

well good news found out it was the gearbox selector modual under the tramission tunnel passenger side.water been getting in to car ?? anyway we took the senser out and water driped from it so we dryed out and put back in and hay presto all works fine need to put in vw to find out about were water coming from ,i think heater but not gearbox hip hip horray
