Door Stowage Box Puzzle
Hello, I am having a time with my driver's door pocket (D3).
Usually when I open it, it stays open and I get something out and then pat it shut. Some days it is stiffer to open and springs shut, no matter how may times I reopen it and pull it this way and that way, and then later on try again and it works as normall. Am I missing a trick here? Kindest regards. |

Well, yesterday it stopped closing fully and would just fall open again.
I had to remove the door trim and the stowage box mounting cabinet from the door trim. It was evident that one of the two pegs that engages with the damping/closing mechanism had broken off the box, the other one was half broken off and held by it's internal wire reinforcement. I had to replace each peg with a chunky furniture screw and re-grease the mechanism. If anyone else needs to take the door trim off, you WILL need 12 x 6Q0868241 door trim clip as these are one time use only and squash and lock together on install. They don't shatter like on other cars, they don't work at all a second time. |

Hi snap dragon,
I've got my front passenger side door stowage box playing up seems like the lower left hinge pin has come out I found it on the plastic runner by the seat. I thought I would be able to get it back in without taking the door card off but its not happening. do you know if it can be done? or can you tell me how to remove the door card & where the hidden screws ect. are, I'll have to get the clips you mention first. Thanks in advance
