First S8 I have heard of need chain adjusters, all the fsi engines seem reliable in that respect.

I would if I were you try and get the screen done or at the least the money for replacement taken off the price.

Battery could be goosed with being discharged deeply by sitting around and would most likely need replacing too.

So that along with tyres gives you things to haggle on

Thanks Del, I was thinking along the same lines.

OK, I couldn't upload the picture of the sticker, but I found an option code decoder online and here's what it threw up:

E0A = No special edition
0GG = Emission standard EU4
4UF = Drivers and front passenger air bag with front passenger air bag deactivation
6XL = Exterior mirrors: with memory function, automatically dimming, electrically foldable/adjustable/heated
5SJ = Left exterior mirror: convex
1KU = Disc brakes, rear
J0Z = Battery 520 A (110 Ah)
1LW = Disc brakes, front
3FA = Without roof insert (standard roof)
5MK = Decorative inserts, carbon weave
7X8 = Park distance control, front and rear with rear view camera
F0A = No special purpose vehicle, standard equipment
0YZ = Without determination of weight categoryfor rear axle
T8E = 10-cylinder gasoline engine 5.2 L Unit 07L.Z (ALU)
8EV = Bi-functional headlight w/ gas dischargelamp, fixed bending light, LED daytime running lights, for driving on the right
V0D = PIRELLI tires
X2B = National sales program Great Britain
2ZD = Heated leather trimmed multi-function steering wheel with Tiptronic
8Q6 = Headlight-range adjustment, automatic/ dynamic with fixed and dynamic bending light(AFS 2)
8ZS = code not found
7Q2 = Navigation system with color screen
CS6 = Alloy wheels 9J x 20
7K3 = Tire pressure control, frequency 433 MHzhigh level version
2K3 = Reinforced bumpers
3PN = Electric seat adjustment for both front seats with memory system
4KV = Side and rear windows in laminated glass
3YB = Door pockets, front
4K6 = Central locking system "Keyless Entry" with fingerprint "two-stage unlocking"
5Z0 = Without separate power seats rear
Q1D = Sports front seats
6TS = Right exterior mirror: aspherical, large viewing field
2MB = 4-corner air suspension with electronic shock absorption control
0JZ = Without determination of weight categoryfor front axle
D5W = 10-cyl. gasoline eng. 5.2 L/331 kW 40V V10 FSI, homogeneous Base engine is T8E
5D1 = Carrier frequency 433.92 MHz-434.42 Mhz
4GM = Laminated windshield, with sunshield andviewing window for vehicle identification number, heated

I can't see any reference to the ACC or the B&O (although it's nice to see the windscreen is heated). Does anyone know the codes for these? Maybe they're in a different part of the sticker, or maybe they've been retrofitted?

8ZS is probably 8Z5 (no hot country)

8RF is high end sound system (B&O)

The other thing that would be nice to know is the battery life of the TPMS sensors, they last about 6 years from new

Eek! I had the seller convinced they were the wrong size! Why are there two options of tyre sizes? Goshdarnit, does that mean I can't take advantage of the well-price P Zeros on offer?!

Hmm... I definitely can't see 8RF on the sticker, but it definitely had B&O sound. It had the right grille for ACC but, seeing as I forgot to test it, I'm now beginning to doubt myself. The cruise control lever had an up down arrow graphic and a semi-circular graphic. Does that sound about right for ACC?

275/35 are for the pre-facelift S8 wheels and 265/35 are for the facelift wheels I believe?

And nobody can take advantage of the heavily discounted P Zeros because it was a "pricing error" and none of the orders are being fulfilled

Did the cluster light up with a set red LEDs around the speedo? Or maybe that's just the latest clocks with needle sweep?

Ollie does your ACC leds light up on ignition on?

The brochure is contradictory in that it mentions both 265 and 275 for the 9j rims.

Both brochures are in the tech dump for the d3

Yeah, I've just been reading about the tyres... What a drag!

The cluster didn't have the LEDs around the speedo that I noticed. I'll have a snoop in the tech dump.

I think it does, yes. Should be a red LED at every 5mph interval between 20mph and 120mph.

An ACC equipped car should have a little sideways toggle on top of the cruise control stalk which sets the distance to follow the car in front. Look in the MMI additional settings for the ACC menu as well.

Press 'Car' > bottom right corner button to access the vehicle settings then you'll notice the ACC menu.

Ah, you just beat me to it... Yes, it has the little bump on top of the control stalk.

I'm beginning to think that this was one of those cars that someone inside Audi had specified outside the build sheet. It also has ceramic brakes and blind-spot monitoring, but I don't see any reference to those either.
