2G to 3G MMI
How difficult is this?
Is it worth it? Anyone done this? Just an information thread (for now) but you never know...

An ex-member did it with the helpof a Polish software engineer.
Very expensive and not the normal sort of retrofix that we enjoy. Eventually he stripped it out and sold the components.

If that was THIS one ? then wasn't that a D4 3G+ setup rather than D3 3G? Or was there another one?

That’s the one the sprung to my mind on opening this thread
I suspect it’s not ‘difficult’ in a technical sense, but depending on whether any modules you currently have in the car won’t talk to the later system will be the determining factor in how many components need to be changed The later style MMI controls, screen, hard drive and associated hardware to locate it are the bare minimum that springs to mind Probably one of those jobs where having a working but crashed 3G car would simplify a swap
