Default Isofix seat fixings

Did the D3 come with ISOfix as standard or what it a bolt on option?

I can't ever remember seeing any in mine.

Not sure on the D3, no kids at the time!

On the D4 they are fitted (I assume as standard) but well hidden between the seat cushions, run your fingers between the base and back of the seat and you will soon know

I'd be amazed if not - my D3 LWB has them and occasionally uses them for customer child seats, I had 3 child seats plus a mum in the car at the busiest lol

They were standard on the D2 from around 2000 onwards, only the earliest facelifts didn't have them.

I would expect you have isofix, 2 in the rear and one on front passenger seats....

I definitely have 2 pairs in the rear seats hidden between the bolsters, but never checked the front seat for them.

It says they exist in the service documents, but I'm sure mine doesn't will look tonight (2006 MY)
Attachment 15594

EDIT** pulled the squab up at the front to unlatch it and slid forward an inch to make a gap between squab and backrest and YES! pristine ISOFIX hiding there.

My 2004 D3 didn't have them but I ordered 2 pairs for the rear seat from my local dealer and retrofitted them. The threaded bolt holes behind the bottom of the rear backrest were already there. You just need the isofix brackets and bolts. They weren't expensive and took 20mins to fit. Take care when removing the rear seat bench as there are cables underneath.

I removed the bench and had a better look.
Found them tight up to the backrest.

Not bothered about the front but I will check

Is there meant to be some guide it protective parts around them?

They look easy to fit and I found some on sale by A8Parts on Amazon.

One option is to use these plastic "guides" that clip onto the isofix bar. They protect the upholstery from scratches and make it a little easier to find the isofix mounting points. They dont look the best though.
Part No. is 8L0019233. They came included with maxi-cosi isofix bases at one stage, I was amazed to see VAG logos and part numbers on them.
