Default Driver's side cat available

Afternoon all

My driver's side cat has died. I've replaced it with an aftermarket one but the actual cat housing and pipes is available if anyone wants it as a project to repair and replace. All comes as one part.

No idea what it's worth - make me an offer and I'll box it up and send it.

Buyer would need to pay postage or collect it from Watford in Herts.

Thanks

Mossy

Is there anything left in it or is it just an empty shell?

If some of the cat is still left in there, have you tried cat recyclers?
These guys paid something like £127 each! for my old cats and one of them was badly broken up and missing some pieces. Didn't seem to reduce the value.

There is still material in there. It was just getting a bit noisy so I replaced it. The material might have broken down a bit but it’s not a shell by any means l.

That's how mine were. One or both cats were rattling, getting progressively worse for a few months until I managed to find someone who could make a new exhaust for me. I didn't think the old cats would be worth much but this place paid me £220 for the pair. I dropped the old cats off and, after a quick inspection, they transferred the funds to my bank account there and then. One thing to note though is that they initially said they'd pay "at least £50" for the cats and that it might be more depending on the part numbers. Once the cats were removed and I was able to give them the part numbers, they upped their offer. I suspect some earlier cats contain a lesser amount of precious metals.

Hmm. I was going to offer £50, but it sounds like I might be out-bid by the recyclers

All I really want is the downpipe tbh. Do the recyclers accept just the cat body without pipework or do they expect the whole thing?

They just want the cats. The pipes were cut off on mine.

Yes they accepted it in my case too, the cats were chopped off right at the root with no pipe.
