Default hi, intersting one

hi, am the recent new owner of a 2000 S8, firstly i must say a fantastic car especially since the guy who bought it new must have ticked every box on the options list, only a couple of issues with it so far

mirrors refused to fold in or out - cheers to dave at a8parts for info and new relay

now the interesting one - when i got it drivers side interior light didnt work figured it was a bulb so removed cover only to find the bulb drop out, popped bulb back in hey presto instant illumination easy fix
until the other day and some 'spirited' driving something kept catching the corner of my eye so paying some more attention to inside the car and some very committed roundabouts the drivers light flashes a bit more playing and i can make it flash with harsh direction changes, heavy braking or acceleration i figured loose wire or connection but can find neither at the light end and not too sure about taking door catch apart

so am baffled for now i guess thats why previous owner took bulb out

anyone experienced this before or have any ideas?

Welcome to the Forum Sootie, glad you like the car and do do 'spirited' driving. that's what they are for!

As for the flashing bulb I would suggest either of the switches in the circuit or a frayed wire earthing the circuit.

Could also be something loose in the door catch mechanism.. Have a play with it when the door is open..
