Needs to be a CAN cable, and some of the early VAG-COM/VCDS cables weren't.

.... and I can confirm it doesn't matter if you disconnect the nav-dvd from the network, it still won't give up the disc.

I fail to comprehend why everything is a botheration with these minor things, I really do.
