Default Can't eject Nav disc

The nav disc won't eject from the unit. is this a broken eject motor or doI need to do some ludicrous Audi "thing" just to change the disc?

Does it make 'eject' noises?

Not 100% sure, but a menu option to stop the disk ejecting sounds familiar.

The word "arse" is not strong enough to get my point across.

Who on here lives in SW London or Surrey with VAGcom so I can do a totally minor update or how quickly can I get VAGcom as we have a trip across Europe starting next Thursday?

You could download VCDS yourself but you'd need a suitable OBD lead.
Also not sure if the "free" version would do that.

I do have a full licensed copy of VCDS on a laptop (and lead) but I'm about 30 miles from you (towards Amersham).
(and I'm no expert on using it either...)

e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)

And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

Surely VCDS is just the updated version of VAG-Com.......
(it works fine on my D2 as did VAG-Com before I upgraded)

Shows how much I know...

What if I disconnect the nav DVD player from everything but the power source and then try the eject button?

i would take hp up on his offer if i were you,

you can download vcds/vagcom for free from rosstech, its the cable that costs the money. you can probably get one next day delivered , they are about £270 ish quid,

you can get a cheap one on ebay too, but they dont do all the functions and there may be some risk involved in using it (according to posts ive seen)

To clarify; I've got a REGISTERED VCDS-Lite with a 3rd-party (USB-OBD) cable.

If you have no other option and do want to drive over I'll probably be at home all tomorrow from late morning on - gardening as SWMBO is visiting her parents miles away.

I'm no expert on using it but maybe someone else here would agree to be on the end of a phone if necessary?
