Default It's a man thing

Spent a bit of time with a forum member yesterday making use of my recently purchased polisher, some decent progress was made, I think I'll get the hang of this eventually

Nice one Ron, looking very spotless

Machine polishing & full detailing is something that I also want to learn to do

Cheers Matt, it's something I've wanted to try for a long time. I bought the polisher off Steve (thebluewhale) and spent some time with a great bloke yesterday learning how to use it. It's time consuming but the results are very satisfying. I knew the colour of the wife's A4 would come up nice but it practically changed colour before my eyes, it's looking sweet now

She just shrugged, like I say, it's a man thing

Cheers fella, I've always admired your work, if I can get to be half as good as you I'll be very happy

Thanks for that but you really don't want to go down that route, not only can it be very expensive but also very time consuming into the bargain.

Before you know it you'll be out with the wet & dry to remove the blemishes then buffing up with the machine to produce the perfect finish

Rather than mess up your thread I'll start another thread with some serious wet & dry pictures and you can read about it here

Of course, but mine is in good order already so I wanted to start with something that would provide a challenge and see some decent results for all of the effort. Although I wash this A4 regularly that's all it ever gets, the paint was flat and covered in swirls so improving it wasn't going to be too difficult

I was pleasantly surprised when the wife picked me up last night after dropping my 8 off for MOT, she came out with "I was hoping it was going to rain today, I was hoping to see the beading on my car"..............good job I was sitting down already as I think I'd have fell over if I wasn't. So she does listen to me sometimes

Smile More of a "Get a Man In" thing

Impressive…but I'm far too lazy for that - though I sincerely doff my cap to anyone with the dedication (and time) to do this.

For anyone familiar with personality type/profiling, I've always scored very low on stuff like this ("completer/finisher" - not me!):

http://w2.uco.fr/~cbourles/OPTION/Th...team_roles.htm

anyone who works with me knows that if they want something finished and perfect, then don't ask me!
