OMG!!
Thats a huge tale of disaster and of a country that just doesn't really care about much at all!

I hope the track day was worth it!

FFS!! That's more than just having a bad day. Have you thought about staying indoors at home for a while?

Cheers Guys the two days of track were awesome - did about 25/26 laps and had the car on slicks.

I did have one "moment" when chasing down two new 991 GT3's who were not as experienced and let me passed going up the hill (Kesselschen) at about 125mph.

I then noticed the yellow blaze of a VLN racing 911 coming past them behind me - so I moved over to let him passed - then nothing - he disappeared from my mirrors but did not go past? I looked to my left and there he was - about an inch from my door mirror at 125!!! with the track narrowing and hanging left.............

I moved slightly right and he went through, he would have been on the grass if I hadn't and that would have been disaster for both of us.

However, the track then banked slightly to the right and the M3 drifted onto the edge of the dirt and grass with two wheels it got all squirmmy (technical term - 125mph remember) and the two 911's behind dissappeared under heavy braking. they thought I was a goner!

I gathered it up with a fair amount of twirling, kept my foot in but lighter on the gas and got it back on the track, but the hot slicks had picked up a load of detritus from their off road excursion!

So once back on the black stuff it got all squirmmy again until the tyres cleared - got stable grip and blasted back up the hill :-) I do believe my arse eat half of my seat during this point :-)

Sadly the following 911's video did not record all of this so I don't have it on video.

Made a note of "squirmmy" and "twirly" to use at future car meets to impress my friends!

Also noted "detritus": I usually use 'cr*p' or 'sh*t'.

back in garage as the A8 was scrapping it's arse along the ground after refitting the springs that came with the car?

Dismantled the rear suspension and we then noticed the previous owner had hack-sawed the springs to reduce the ride height!!!! Explains why it was dragging it's arse.

Fitted new springs and helper "rubbers" to assist with towing and also fitted 20mm hub centric spacers to the rear to give it a wider stance for towing and to fill the wheel arches. all looking and performing good now.

Also fitted the front strut brace to tighten up the front end.

Getting there - just a few more jobs:-

1. drivers seat belt
2. brake switch to hopefully cure the non op cruise control
3. sealant for the air con so that it retains the gas for more than a month
4. replace the horns as they are very "weedy"
