Memory seats, swap from RHD to LHD?
I'm looking at using the seats from my S8 in my project and would like to use the memory function.
The reason for this post is that my S8 is RHD and the project (T3 Bluestar) is LHD. Obviously the memory only applies to the drivers seat so..... can I just plug the left hand seat into the right hand seat wiring and it'll do the same thing? MG

Try it and see - can't see any reason why it wouldn't work as the range of adjustment is all the same and it'd make manufacture easier.

Cool I'll try it when removing the seats.
I'm planning on taking a lot of the interior stuff over into the project. Seats inc memory, central locking inc mirror control, Satnav, dash, rear anti-dazzle mirror, parking sensors (front and rear), Stereo system etc. MG

it can be done... Goglawrie's car has memory on both sides which was a retrofit. Ian should be able to tell you which module(s) you'd need for it.

It's a butt hole of a job. The memory seats differ in build as the spindles where the electric motors run have also position sensors on them like abs sensors that tracks the seat movement via the memory module. You would need a donor seat and to strip it to the chassis to do. Way easier to get a lhd seat or find a passenger one from a uk car with passenger seat memory

Humpf.... ok that's that idea out of the window unless you've got one hiding under your desk?
 That said, there's nothing stopping me from fitting the seats in the other way around. Do they have a trim similar to the outer edge on the inner side? MG

Seat chassis is the same, so buckle should move ok, but pretty sure plastic trims and wiring looms are handed, making it tricky to make a seat work on the other side...

Wiring looms and seat buckles are not a problem when using them in a new vehicle. I'll just make everything to suit.
I'd prefer it that the seats have some kind of trim around the side that you'll see when you open the door though. I need to find some photos of the seats out of the car. MG
