Default Ayone in Hampshire who could view an S8 for me??

Hi folks

The following S8 is for sale and was wondering if there was anyone in the Hampshire area who could possibly have a look at it for me as I'm in Scotland:

http://www.s2000-4u.co.uk/audi-s8-qu...pshire-1509572

It's located between Guilford and Winchester.

Is this car known by anyone?

The car has just over 100k on it and the timing belt, tensioners, etc have been replaced and there is documentation to prove it. Cost approximately £1400. Is it as much as that??

Any comments, advice, thoughts about the car would be much appreciated.

Thanks

James

Hi James
Friad I can't help with a viewing, but that S8 looks like a Final Edition, and it has the S (squirt) mode on the gear selector.

Also this one on sale in Yorkshire http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...d=233482042837
At £3995 its looking cheap

Both cars appear to have Bi-Xenon headlights too. This gives you Xenon lighting in both dipped and high beam

I;m not a big fan of the FEs interiors. The one Tonuokid has highlighted looks a better car with lower milage I'd guess.

Have another look at that, the wheels are all wrong, they look like 18" or 19" at best with dodgy offsets. Something not right there.

It does look like the tyres are too low a profile for the car - don't really fill the arches? Definitely not 20s but could be RS4 rims, but more likely replicas of the same. Worth an e-mail to the seller to check wheel spec/size/offset and tyre size to see if the wheels are the right rolling radius as the original wheels (which should've been 18" Avus)

Yeah, did speak to them - been talking to James via PM about it. Never went to see it and a bit far for me to pop to see as it's about 1.5hrs from me.

The previous owner part exchanged it for a W12 they had, IIRC. It was supposedly serviced shortly before sale even though it was being part exchanged. The garage said a wheel refurb was all it could really do with (which I would suggest the garage would sort if it was a deal breaker) but clearly that's based on a telephone conversation and I agree with James that his approach is sensible in trying to get someone else to view more locally to see if it's a pup.

It's now £1k cheaper than when originally advertised too!

This ones a bit wierd.... It doesnt have a phone aerial, so it doesnt fit the final edition spec, and its a 51 plate, which makes no sense either as there are plenty of 02 plate non-final editions out there made after this....

But, I also think I've seen this car before as its not the first time I'm come up against this exact odd spec.

Its not necessarily a pup, but worth closer examination if interested in it..

Hi guys

Thanks for all your responses. I'll contact the seller to see if he can provide any further information regarding alloys.

If no-one on here can view the car, can anyone recommend an independant Audi specialist in that area who I could pay to look at the car?

Thanks

James

If you have a look in the recommended suppliers sticky, you'll see SJB Autotech in Basingstoke are nearby. A bit further away, but I recommend them are JKM performance in Portsmouth. I don't know if either will do an inspection for you but you can ask.

Might be worth asking for an e-mailed photo of the inside front page of the service book with all the spec codes and decode using sites linked on here to see what the factory spec should be?

I guess somebody might have spec'd it to similar to FE spec through choice?!

The decode info isn't perfect if the info is plain wrong (it tells me my car has Vavona wood, which it doesn't and appears never to have had)

If you're a member, the RAC would be a good option if they have any specialists based in the area - should be able to ask them to check specific info to try and check it's all original.
